As Principal Partner of Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras, ANZ Bank once again brought their popular GAYTM campaign back to the streets of Sydney.
In 2015, a new technique was developed for the GAYTMs to give them an even more tactile and visually rich aesthetic. Over 10,000 individually laser-cut acrylic sheets were layered by hand to gradually form a relief. Glitter, mirrored tiles, velvet and leather were also incorporated into the designs. Each GAYTM also sported an illuminated component that extended beyond its traditional confines, given them a different personality during the day and night.
Adding more to the experience, the GAYTMs also issued rainbow receipts, delivered motion-activated compliments, and played motion-activated music. As per last year, all transaction fees from the GAYTMs were donated to an LGBTI charity.
In 2010, Daniel was engaged as the Event Director to create and deliver the inaugural Asia Pacific Design Triennial. Drawing from his design background and experience crafting internationally-respected events, ‘Unlimited: Designing for the Asia Pacific' attracted the participation of design luminaries such as Paul Bennett (Global Chief Creative Officer, IDEO - UK), Sir Peter Cook (Futurist / Architect - UK), Bunker Roy (Founder, Barefoot College - India) and Marie So (Director, Ventures in Development - Hong Kong). Attended by over 10,000 people, the week-long program of public talks, exhibitions, master classes and events reaffirmed the value of design and design-thinking to addressing endemic problems in the Asia Pacific region.
